Tipper is 2 years old old. He was heartworm positive and was severe enough that it's caused heart enlargement and infiltrates can be seen in lungs. Started on doxycycline for 30 days and prednisone for one week to, hopefully, improve lung congestion caused by heartworms. Once his lungs were better we neutered, remove eye and, hopefully a much needed dental as his teeth were causing him to have inflammation and soreness along his lip line. The eye is most likely Corneal Squamous Cell Carcinoma and is so deep into into his cornea that he's already lost sight. The Corneal SCC would come back so removing the eye was the option we made. His teeth were so bad he had sores like you see more commonly on droopy lipped dogs like Bassets and St. Bernards. He cannot be put under anesthesia until his lungs look a little better, so the hope is that the Prednisone will help and they can go in and do the dental and remove the eye.
