Born March 4, 2019
Meet Scout, a beautiful ruby Cavalier who came into rescue when her owner could no longer provide the care she needed. At just seven years old, she is the perfect blend of youthful spirit and calm companionship.
Personality & Temperament
Scout is a classic Cavalier sweetheart. Her signature move is rolling onto her back—four paws in the air—waiting for belly rubs. She loves being close to her humans and will follow her foster mom from room to room, always ready to offer kisses and affection. When her foster leaves the house, Scout gives a few barks to let her know she’ll be waiting, often settling herself by the front door until her person returns.
She has a gentle, easygoing nature and adapts quickly to new routines. Scout bonded with her foster family immediately and thrives on reassurance, closeness, and love.
Home Behavior
Scout is wonderfully easy to live with:
Fully house-trained and uses a doggy door
Crate-trained, though she prefers sleeping in the bed near her foster mom
Roams freely in the home without issue
Great with cats and only barks when her foster siblings start barking
Snores like a human, which only adds to her charm
She enjoys exploring the fenced backyard but prefers being inside near her people. She eats twice a day and gets excited for meals and treats—never showing food aggression.
Training & Skills
Scout is a well-mannered girl:
Walks beautifully on a leash
Knows how to sit and waits patiently for treats
Does great on car rides, at the groomer, and at the vet
Health
Scout is a, well-cared-for Cavalier:
No heart murmurs detected
Up-to-date on vaccines
Spayed and microchipped
On flea and heartworm preventatives
Weighs 24 lbs
Ideal Home
Scout would do well in almost any loving home. She previously lived with another Cavalier for seven years (not a bonded pair) and has connected easily with her foster siblings. She would enjoy having another calm, friendly dog in the home, but she would also thrive as the center of someone’s world.
What Scout wants most is simple: love, attention, and plenty of belly rubs. She will be a devoted companion to a family who welcomes her into their hearts.
Why You’ll Love Her
Scout is affectionate, adaptable, gentle, and endlessly sweet. She will make a wonderful addition to any family ready to give her the love and companionship she deserves.
