Rusty Scupper in Mid Atlantic

Hi! My Name Is Rusty Scupper in Mid Atlantic

We're happy to tell you that Rusty Scupper in Mid Atlantic has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Hi.  I’m Rusty.  I came to rescue via a shelter.  My owner surrendered me because she said I had separation anxiety.  I was quite overweight, too.

My foster mom took me in and put me on a strict diet.  She was recovering from knee replacement surgery so the two of us got to walk together every day.  I’m much slimmer now and I got very good at leash walking.  I have three foster siblings and I love playing with them.  We run and run in the yard and have a ball.  I’m great riding in the car, too.

While I love my foster home, I’m ready to look for my forever home.  Since I love to run and play, a big fenced yard would be great. And, other dogs that I could run and play with would be ideal.  I’m not really much of a couch potato, but I do enjoy my naps.  I prefer having someone around to keep me company, so if you work out of the house all day, that would not work for me.

To get serious consideration to adopt me you must live within reasonable (~ 2 hours) driving distance of Baltimore, Maryland.  No electric fences.  No children under the age of 5.  I have not run into any cats, but I do love to chase small animals, so your cat must be able to fend for itself.  Or be  quick. I prefer to have other dogs to play with, but i love humans, too.  I’m a young, active boy, so if you’re looking for a couch potato, I’m not a good match for your family.

I really need another doggy playmate.  So a dog 7 or under would be great.  An older dog would not be around long enough to keep me company.  And I love company.   My foster mom has worked hard to train me, so my new family needs to commit to continuing my training.  You know its really the owner that needs training, not me.  And if you’re into agility or flyball, I would love to try those things.  I think I am a real winner.

I look forward to meeting you, matey.
