Pumpkin in Great Plains

Hi! My Name Is Pumpkin in Great Plains

We're happy to tell you that Pumpkin in Great Plains has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Pumpkin is a tender-hearted Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who’s currently soaking up love and learning the rhythms of home life while she prepares for her spay and recovery. Though she’s not quite ready for adoption, we couldn’t wait to introduce her—because Pumpkin is pure affection wrapped in silky ears and soulful eyes.

From the moment she arrived, Pumpkin has shown herself to be the ultimate cuddle companion. Whether she’s draped across your lap or nestled beside you on the sofa, she thrives on human touch and connection. She’s happiest wherever her people are—and yes, that includes the big bed, where she now sleeps peacefully with her foster family and their two Cavaliers.

Pumpkin has acclimated beautifully to her foster home’s schedule and enjoys four daily walks, including two morning strolls tailored to each Cavalier’s pace. She’s made remarkable progress on leash and now trots along with confidence. After walks, she races joyfully to the kitchen for breakfast—her playful anticipation is a delight to witness.

She’s a gentle eater with a few quirks: she prefers her meals served on a plate and took a few days to warm up to the idea of peeing outside. With patience and encouragement (and a few tasty rewards like Sam’s Yams and Old Mother Hubbard treats), she’s now reliably doing her business during outings. She enjoys apples, blueberries, carrots, and other veggies, and her coat is in lovely condition.

Pumpkin knows “sit” and “stay,” naps well, and is alert the moment you move. She’s not yet interested in toys, but she’s curious and observant. She’s fine in the car, though she may need a few more rides to feel fully at ease. Around new people, she’s a bit timid—she’ll greet them politely but always circles back to her trusted human.

We believe Pumpkin would thrive in a home where she receives abundant love and attention. She could do well as a single dog or with other gentle companions. While we don’t know how she is with children, her affectionate nature suggests she’d warm up with time and care.

Pumpkin isn’t quite ready to leave our arms just yet, but she’s blossoming more each day. Keep an eye out for updates—we know her forever family is out there, waiting to meet this sweet, soulful girl who simply wants to be near the ones she loves.
