Mimi came to rescue back in August from mass surrender in the Pacific Northwest. Her first week as part of Rescue Trust involved giving birth to a litter of three adorable puppies. Now that the puppies have been weaned and adopted, Mimi is excited to find her forever home. Prior to being in foster Mimi had no socialization, no potty training, no leash training and no crate training. She will need a forever home that will provide patience, training, and a lot of love. Unlike some of her sisters from the surrender, Mimi is a wild and crazy girl. Because of her red hair, her foster likens her to another crazy redhead, Lucille Ball. She would do well with the family that has children to play with.
We estimate Mimi is about four years old. In order to qualify for her adoption, you must live in either Oregon or Washington state. We prefer that she have a fenced yard, another Cavalier to learn from, and have someone home most of the time. We will not accept applicants where the dog will be alone more than four hours a day on a regular basis. Previous training experience is a plus. If your application is considered a good fit, a volunteer will call and interview you. We will do a reference check with your veterinarian. If you do not have a vet reference we will not consider your application. If her foster thinks you are a good fit for Mimi, a volunteer will come by and do a home visit.
if you have room in your heart and life for a fun loving, active, beautiful and sweet dog, please complete an adoption application.
Mimi’s foster mom told us:
Mimi is a spunky vivacious, energetic sweet little dog aching to please. She is sunshine on a rainy day! Potty training is going very well for her. She’s learned to sleep in a crate and she’s been a very good and attentive mommy. She loves to sit in a lap, but is also very happy to drop down the driveway and get the mail with us. She would do best in a home where she could be active walking, playing with kids. I bet she would love to learn how to play fetch and would be a regular little red rocket! We have enjoyed having her. She is very dear to us.
Mimi is being fostered in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington). We prefer the potential adopters live with a reasonable drive from the foster as we insist on several meetings so that we are sure we have found her the perfect forever home. Mimi was not leash trained when she came to rescue so it’s probably best if she has a home with a securely fenced yard. No electric fences. Mimi is currently nursing a litter and won’t be available before November 1.
