Mick is a quiet, sweet boy who loves having people close by. At 10 years old, he’s laid back and easygoing, happy to nap most of the day and soak up companionship. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys gentle company.
💕 Personality & Preferences
Calm and affectionate, happiest near his people
Fine with other dogs, not demanding or dominant
Prefers the couch to the crate (he’s not a fan of crating)
Enjoys short leash walks, though his blindness makes him slow and steady
Loves to wander in the yard but always comes back to his favorite spot indoors
🩺 Medical & Care Needs
Mick has had both eyes removed due to glaucoma and lives comfortably as a blind dog. He also has a grade 6 heart murmur and is on medication to help manage his condition. He eats twice a day on a special diet and will need an experienced adopter familiar with caring for dogs with blindness and heart disease.
He is house-trained but does best with regular trips outside. His hearing is selective—he notices some sounds better than others. Mick has a dental procedure scheduled in the coming weeks, so he is not yet ready for adoption.
🚗 Everyday Life
Does well in the car
Handled his bath like a champ and has a beautiful coat
Somewhat picky with food, but enjoys his meals when offered with patience
Naps often, though his energy may improve as his medical needs are addressed
🌟 Ideal Home: Mick will thrive in a calm, loving environment with an experienced owner who understands the needs of blind dogs and those with heart conditions. He doesn’t ask for much—just a soft couch, gentle guidance, and someone to love him through his golden years.
