I’m Micah! I am 6-years-old and I love people and food! I am super friendly and everyone loves me. I make friends everywhere I go. I get very excited to meet new people and go for rides, even to the vet. Did I mention I love food???? I came into rescue because my family could not afford my ongoing vet care. I was also very overweight when I came into rescue but I have been a good boy and sticking with my weight loss plan. With the help of my fosters, I have lost almost 5 pounds and am close to my goal weight now. I am a big Cavalier and will need to stay on a diet though so I don’t gain my weight back. The green bean diet works 😊. I know basic commands; I am potty and crate trained and love to go on walks. I recently had a dental and a small lump removed from my chest, but I am good to go to my new family now.
I will need ongoing care and medication for my heart murmur and seizures. I am on medication daily for both for the rest of my life but I haven’t had a seizure in over 2 months since being on medication!
I like to sit in laps or on a couch near you. I usually sleep on the floor or couch and I can’t wait for you to wake up and love on me. I do have a little separation anxiety occasionally when you leave me, but I settle down after a few minutes and go back to sleep on the couch while waiting for you. I get along great with other dogs, big or small. I am generally quiet, but I do whine and bark a little when I get excited(especially when it is meal time and when my leash comes out to go somewhere!).
My fosters say I have the ideal cavalier temperament and they love having me around. I actually overheard them say they wish some of the resident dogs were as well behaved and affectionate as me.
