Hi! I’m Colonel Malcom McSnuggles. I’m settling in here with my foster mom and fur-sister. My favorite time of day is snuggle-time, which is anytime that I’m awake or sleeping.
I was really shy when I first got here and just wanted to be with my foster mom. Once I followed her through a curtain into a place with water pouring from the ceiling….I never made that mistake again! I’m getting braver now and will even let my foster mom leave a room without me. I really like the Sit/Stay game 'cause I'm really good at it and get lots of treats. I love being with my fur-sister, she is teaching me all sorts of fun stuff like how to walk on a leash, how to watch for mom out the window and race to the door before she opens it, and how to play with toys. She’s better at the toy thing, I’ll chase the ball once or twice and then I decide I should go snuggle with my foster mom to keep her company as she throws the ball….we all have jobs to do around here…. I’m getting really good at remembering to go to the bathroom outside – I mean, I know that is where I am supposed to go….but occasionally I forget….but really rarely….and only when I’m left alone too long. So, for a little bit longer, I’m going to need to have regular trips outside.
Malcolm is being fostered in Northern Virginia. He would love a fenced yard to roam in even though he has mastered walking on a leash very quickly. He is okay being the only dog, but since he came from a home with 45 brothers and sisters, he can exist with other dogs easily. He is, however, an attention hog, so the other dogs have to not mind that. He loves humans and loves laps, so you must have plenty of those in ample supply to adopt him. If you live within a 2 hour drive of Northern Virginia and have room in your house and life for a handsome snuggle buddy, please apply to adopt him.
