Mabel is a sweet, spayed female Cavalier who has been spayed and had a dental. Sutures are coming out next week. This week she had her left eye evaluated by specialist, and the good news is that she does have some pressure, and we are treating with drops. Though the doctor said she will need to be rechecked in 6 months. Such good news for miss Mabel. She will need to have a home that will follow-up with the specialist for her eye.
Personality & Energy
Medium energy, cooperative, and very affectionate
Loves to snuggle in your lap and will stay as long as you let her
Very keyed in on her people and eager to bond
Shows signs of wanting to play once her sutures are healed
Home Habits
Excellent eater (she truly delights in her meals!)
Takes medication easily when tucked inside a pill pocket
Knows how to use a dog door and is progressing well with house training
Handles car rides beautifully—quiet, calm, and no motion sickness when safely crated
Training & Play
Knows no commands yet, but her attentiveness suggests she’ll learn quickly
Interested in toys and the toy box, though play is paused until she’s fully healed
We’ll begin working on commands and gentle play once her sutures are out
Ideal Home
Mabel would thrive in a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods. She loves people and enjoys meeting new friends when approached respectfully. She has not been tested with toddlers or cats, so a home without toddlers is recommended.
Health Notes
Recovering well from her spay and dental (no extractions needed)
No heart murmur detected
Left eye evaluated by specialist and will need to have follow-up check in 6 months.
Overall, she is laid back, affectionate, and ready to blossom once her recovery is complete
Mabel is a lap-loving sweetheart who will bring warmth and joy to the right family. Once she’s fully healed, she’ll be ready to explore toys, learn new commands, and continue delighting everyone she meets.
