Lucy in Pacific

Hi! My Name Is Lucy in Pacific

We're happy to tell you that Lucy in Pacific has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Lucy is a petite, ruby-coated Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a charming mix of independence and curiosity. At just 1.5 years old, she has already been spayed and had a dental (only one tooth removed), and she is currently adjusting to her foster home. We did a biopsy of a small growth on her side. We received the results back and they were benign. That is great news. She is heart clear and otherwise doing well. She is not ready to move to her forever home as she needs more time to adjust, but has had her medical work done.

Personality

Lucy is naturally independent and enjoys exploring the backyard on her own.

She greets new people best when approached slowly, choosing when to come forward for a gentle hello.

While she’ll happily hop into your lap for a few cuddles, she’s quick to move on if something else catches her attention.

Nesting is her favorite pastime—she loves burrowing into her bed, even if there’s nothing to nest with!

Social & Training

Lucy shows interest in other dogs and is expected to enjoy playtime once her spay sutures are healed.

She has not yet been tested with cats or toddlers.

She doesn’t know commands yet, but she’s very food motivated and intelligent, so training should come easily with patience and consistency.

She is not a big barker and has shown no signs of fear in her foster home.

Ideal Home

Lucy would thrive in a home where she isn’t left alone for long stretches.

Older children and homes with other Cavaliers or friendly small dogs would be a great fit.

Because she is on the smaller side, her family should accompany her outdoors for safety.

She enjoys both indoor and outdoor time equally and travels well in a secure crate, usually snoozing during car rides.

Daily Routine

Lucy heads outside first thing for potty, then eagerly awaits her breakfast.

She eats a half cup of food twice daily and devours every bite.

Toys aren’t yet her thing, but with time and patience, she may discover the joy of play.

Lucy is still in her adjustment phase but her foster family describes her as charming, intelligent, and full of potential. She’s a little nesting queen who will blossom into a wonderful companion once she’s been in foster care long enough to adjust. We will update more as we learn more about her.
