Cavalier King Charles Spaniel • ~2 years old • Male (neutering scheduled)
Not quite ready for adoption — available soon!
Jasper is a bright, energetic, jazz‑hands kind of Cavalier who brings sunshine into every room he enters. At about two years old, he’s the perfect blend of playful youngster and affectionate companion.
Personality & Temperament
Jasper can be a little shy when he first meets someone — just long enough to size things up — and then he flips right over for a belly rub and becomes your instant best friend. He loves his people, watches everything with curiosity, and greets familiar faces with full‑body joy.
He’s playful, social, and very dog‑interested. Although he’s currently quarantined during whipworm treatment, he has enjoyed parallel walks with the resident dogs and would absolutely love a canine buddy once cleared. He’d also thrive as an only dog with an active owner who enjoys interaction and play.
Training & Skills
Jasper is a smart little guy with a great foundation:
SIT — excellent
WAIT — especially for ball tosses
SIT for kibble — polite and eager
STAY & HEEL — still learning
Leash manners — pulls with excitement, but improves on a short lead
House manners — totally housetrained, no marking
Crate trained — sleeps 8:30 PM to 7:30 AM, settles well, and signals when he needs out
He’s sensitive to loud noises, thunder, and surprising sounds, but he recovers quickly with reassurance.
Play Style & Daily Routine
Jasper is a fetch fanatic — he’ll drop his ball or toy right in your lap to politely request a game. After playtime, he’s happy to settle with his favorite small bone or puppy Kong.
His current routine includes:
Breakfast around 7:30 AM
Several short walks for pee/poop
Lunch kibble to help him gain weight
Afternoon play and potty breaks
Dinner at 5:30 PM followed by a walk
Final potty around 8:15–8:30 PM
He can be left loose in a single room or crated for a couple of hours and will snooze contentedly.
Medical Notes
Jasper has been treated for whipworms with Panacur (round one completed 7/23–25; round two due ~8/20).
He will be neutered prior to adoption.
He has a grade 1–2 right patella luxation, noted at intake.
He is microchipped (chip not yet registered).
He’s underweight and currently receiving extra kibble.
Coat is short; ears need routine cleaning.
He sometimes pees on his front feet — he’s used to having them wiped.
Ideal Home
Jasper would be a wonderful companion for:
A family with children 10+ who want a playful, affectionate dog
A home with another friendly dog
An active single adopter who enjoys training, play, and companionship
He is a sensitive, trusting dog, clearly loved in his previous home, and he bonds deeply with his person. His joy when you walk into the room is absolutely heart‑melting — he’ll hop into your lap, roll belly‑up, and drift off to sleep in your rocking chair.
In Summary
Jasper is a sweet, spirited, people‑loving Cavalier who is almost ready to begin his new life. He’s playful, smart, affectionate, and eager to be part of a family again. If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, make you laugh, and be your loyal companion, Jasper is waiting for you.
