Ellie in Great Plains

Hi! My Name Is Ellie in Great Plains

We're happy to tell you that Ellie in Great Plains has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Dogs Page to see the pups currently available.

Hi.  My name is Ellie.  I came to rescue last summer with 45 of my brothers and sisters.  Boy, did we get lucky.  We learned what a couch is and what a human  bed feels like.  We get to  live in nice homes with great people who had to teach us that humans are good and loving.  We also had to be potty trained and leash trained and crate trained.  It was a crash course, but I think I aced it!

I am spunky and occasionally stubborn, but just adorable.  I have come very far with trusting my foster mother and the other humans I meet.  I have not had any accidents in my foster home and I love to run outside to do my business.

I am good with men and women but children worry me and I tend to bark at them.  So I prefer a home with no young children or grandchildren.  I have not met this creature called a cat yet.

I love my dog bed, but I found a better bed to sleep in: the one my foster mom sleeps in.  I’m okay sleeping in a crate but beds are much better.  My foster mom leaves the door to my crate open all the time and occasionally I go in there for a quiet nap.

My foster mom says I have a darling personality. I love to be on the sofa with her and my foster cavalier sibling.  When my foster mom leaves the room, I must go find her and make sure she is okay. I love to have my chin or ears scratched and my foster mom is the best at this.   I am a great eater and I love to go on walks.

I am ready to find my forever home.  While I like to go on walks, a secure fenced yard is probably best for me.  No children please.  I do not like to be left alone, so if you are gone all day that would probably not be a good home for me. I would love to have another cavalier to live with since I am used to being part of a big crowd.  If you have big dogs or cats it would just depend on how well we get along.  You would have to bring all your pets and family to my foster home to meet me.  If we think you’re nice, we will come visit you at your house, too.  My foster mom has worked very hard to get me ready for my forever home, so she will be very picky about who is lucky enough to have me.  IT may take several visits before I feel comfortable with you and your pack.  But if you don’t fill out an adoption application, we will never know…..
