Charley is a darling 2‑year‑old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has just joined rescue and is already charming everyone he meets. He’s currently being treated for a skin infection which is clearing up. He is scheduled for his neuter and dental in the coming week. While he continues his medical care and settles into foster life, we’re getting to know this sweet, spirited boy. Keep checking back—Charley’s story is just beginning.
💖 Personality & Energy
Charley is all puppy at heart. He loves to play, run, and roughhouse with his foster brothers, and he thrives on attention. This boy is a world‑class snuggler—he’ll happily rest his head on your chest and soak up every bit of affection. He’s generous with kisses and happiest when he’s close to his people. He hasn’t met many dogs outside his foster home yet, but he’s curious and observant, especially when squirrels cross his path on walks.
🏡 Training & Manners
Charley is still working on house training and has had a few accidents, but he’s making progress with consistency. He knows “sit” well, though “stay” is harder—especially when food is involved. Charley is a proud treat thief and always first in line at mealtime. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood with his foster brothers.
🐾 Daily Life & Preferences
Charley adores his big foster brother Louis and looks to him for confidence and play. He loves toys, enjoys entertaining himself for short stretches, and settles into his crate when his foster leaves—after a few minutes of protest. Loud noises can startle him, but reassurance goes a long way.
He’s a great little traveler and recently enjoyed a trip to the pet store, riding in the child seat so he could take in all the sights. After starting out sleeping in his crate, he has now graduated to the “big human bed,” where he prefers to sleep very close.
Charley eats at 7 AM and 5 PM and delights in chasing rolled blueberries across the floor. Apples, sweet potatoes, and pineapple are among his favorite snacks. He receives several medicated baths each week and doesn’t mind the pampering one bit.
