Callie Sue in Mid Atlantic

Meet Callie Sue. She has recovered from her spay and dental, and is now ready to find a special someone to be her best friend. In her foster home she was initially very reserved, choosing to melt into the background and fly under the radar. She is now settled into the rhythm of her foster family, and has begun to play with her foster family's 10 month old cavalier She is very fond of being close to you, and likes to be up on the arm of the sofa to watch what is happening. She is crate trained; but would not say no if you let her sleep in bed with you. Callie Sue loves it if you sing to her when she is out on walk or if she is riding in the car. She was shaved down before she came into our care. Her coat is now beginning to grow. She has been fine with baths and nail trims. She would do best in a home with at most 1 other dog, and would be okay with a well-behaved child 8 or older. Her foster mother feels she has the potential to become a therapy dog; either sitting next to a child as they read to her, or gazing lovingly at someone as they pet her on a visit to a long-term care facility. She could be your assistant if you work from home; although her spelling and filing system could use some work! Callie Sue walks calmly on a leash, and is doing well with other basic obedience commands. She wants to have a home with a fenced yard, it does not have to be large.
