Adopt

Rescue Cavaliers come from a variety of places – from shelters, owner surrenders due to the economy and loss of jobs, owner health issues or even owner death, legal siezures, or commercial breeders. These are just some of the reasons Cavaliers are rescued. It’s really not important where they come from or why, it matters that they have a second chance at love and a forever family.

If you are interested in adopting a Cavalier, please submit the adoption application. We will contact you when a dog comes available matching your family needs. Our first priority is placing the right dog in the right home. We cannot take phone calls regarding available dogs.

Please note, in most cases, we require adoptive families have a secure fenced yard for the dogs to safely exercise in.

Many of the Cavaliers surrendered to the Rescue Trust are not socialized properly and may experience some difficulty adjusting to home situations. Most will not be suitable for families with small children. They need a safe and secure fenced yard to play in. After being made ready for adoption, families who have a preliminary adoption application on file will be contacted. We ask that you be patient in this process. Because of the lack of socialization and the difficult transition the dogs sometimes experience, many of the dogs need to remain in foster care for a much longer time than our required minimum of three weeks.

Even if there is not a dog listed in the region you reside, we may have dogs being readied in foster care for adoption. We usually do not list any dogs until we feel they are ready for adoption.

If you are interested in any of the Cavaliers who might come into rescue, please complete the preliminary adoption application. If we have something for you, contact will be made as soon as we have a dog ready that might match with your request. Again, we ask for your patience. Good things are worth waiting for. Thank you for your interest in helping one of our sweet rescue Cavaliers.
