Hi! My Name Is Duke in Pacific
I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon
Duke is a joyful, ball‑crazy, fun‑loving tri boy who brings a smile to everyone he meets. He’s an affectionate, social, and active Cavalier who thrives on playtime, companionship, and being included in daily life. If you’re looking for a dog who makes every day brighter, Duke is your guy.
Personality & Temperament
Duke is a very fun dog who absolutely loves to play ball and happily shares his toys with other dogs. He’s well‑socialized, friendly, and enjoys meeting new people. He has a silly, sweet streak—he loves feet, sneaks in little kisses, and will lay on your shoes just to be close.
He barks at feral cats and sudden noises but quiets immediately when asked. Fireworks, however, are not his favorite and he’ll need reassurance during loud holidays.
Training & Skills
Duke had professional training as a youngster and it shows:
Crate trained
Doggy‑door trained
Knows sit and come
Walks nicely on a collar (but pulls on a harness)
Can slip out of a loose collar, so adopters should use a secure fit
He adjusts quickly—usually within 1–2 days—to new homes, new routines, and new noises.
Daily Routine
Duke eats in a crate twice a day and is currently getting a probiotic with his morning meal. His typical day includes:
Breakfast
A walk
Playtime with other dogs
A nap
More playtime
Dinner
Evening toy time
He loves company during meals and enjoys being part of the household rhythm.
Health & Care
Duke weighs about 20 lbs and has adorable curls in his coat. He occasionally gets soft stools and may need a prescription tummy diet or bland meals for a couple of days. He enjoys soft brushing and the attention that comes with it.
He rides nicely in the car—either crated or in a small dog car seat with a seatbelt. He also enjoys visiting the small dog park.
Ideal Home
Duke would thrive in an active household where he gets plenty of attention, playtime, and engagement. A home with another dog or a playful companion would be wonderful for him. He’s an energetic 6‑year‑old who loves being included and would happily live at a ballpark if he could—be prepared to throw a toy or two.
Why You’ll Love Him
Duke has a habit of making people laugh with his goofy, affectionate personality. He’s the kind of dog who brightens the room just by being in it. If you’re looking for a Cavalier who is fun, loving, social, and ready for adventure, Duke is waiting to meet you.
