Franklin is all puppy in the very best ways—bright, busy, affectionate, and endlessly curious. Recently neutered and still recovering, he’ll need a little more time in foster care before he’s ready to meet potential adopters. For now, he’s soaking up routine, learning the ropes of home life, and charming everyone he meets.
🌟 Behavior & Training
Franklin’s energy and enthusiasm are front and center this week. He’s playful, smart, and eager to explore everything around him. He already knows sit and will happily come when called, especially if he thinks you’re heading somewhere interesting.
He’s making steady progress with potty training—still having accidents but reliably using a potty pad when needed. Leash walking is going very well for such a young pup, and he enjoys getting out for short strolls.
He’s also learning:
Not to jump up on people (a work in progress)
That crates are safe and cozy (he’d much prefer to sleep with the other dogs)
That toys are for fetching and giving back… eventually
Franklin is incredibly people‑oriented and prefers to eat only when his human is in the room. He just wants to be close.
❤️ Health & Well‑Being
Franklin is recovering from his recent neuter surgery and is currently on:
Antibiotics
Anti‑inflammatory medication
A medication to help him rest during recovery
He received his monthly heartworm prevention on 3/7.
His appetite is normal once he feels secure that you’re nearby. His energy level is high—very typical for a young, puppy—and his curiosity keeps him busy from morning to night.
🐶 Socialization & Activities
Franklin is wonderfully social. On walks, he’ll happily approach anyone for pets and attention. He seems to enjoy children and loves belly rubs.
With animals, he’s been excellent:
Plays well with your large dog
Gets along beautifully with your Cavalier
Is respectful and appropriate with your cat
Will chase chickens and birds if given the chance (puppy instincts at work)
He’s beginning to play more with your dogs as he settles in. He enjoys walks, exploring the yard, carrying toys around, and being wherever his human is.
📝 Additional Notes
Franklin is a busy body with a big heart. He learns quickly, loves deeply, and wants to be part of everything. He’s still working on house training, crate comfort, and polite greetings, but his progress is steady and his spirit is joyful.
He’s not quite ready for adoption yet, but he’s blossoming in foster care and showing what a wonderful companion he’ll become with structure, patience, and love.
