Queen Elizabeth—affectionately known as Elizabeth—is a gentle, calm, and incredibly sweet girl who has settled into her rescue with remarkable grace. Her affectionate nature and easy disposition make her the kind of companion who quietly brightens every room she enters. Whether greeting people of all ages, charming other Cavaliers, or winning over her foster’s 9-year-old granddaughter, Elizabeth’s soft spirit and loving personality shine through.
Temperament & Personality
Elizabeth is the epitome of a quiet, easygoing dog. She adores gentle affection, leisurely walks, and napping contentedly throughout the day. She knows her name, sits for treats, and goes into her crate without fuss—though she definitely prefers the comfort of her cozy dog bed. Elizabeth rides calmly in the car, warms up quickly to new people, and enjoys the steady companionship of those around her. Her soft nature and easy affection make her an ideal companion for a peaceful home.
Daily Routine & Habits
Elizabeth is fully housebroken and sleeps peacefully through the night in her dog bed. She thrives on a predictable routine, loves her daily walks, and keeps her tail wagging the entire time—often accompanied by the endearing snorts and snores typical of Cavaliers. Her foster mom notes that these noises may improve as Elizabeth continues her weight-loss journey. She enjoys healthy treats like apples and green beans and currently eats ½ cup of Purina Pro Plan (salmon & rice) twice daily. Taking her medications is easy when they’re tucked into a bite of canned food.
Medical & Care Status
Elizabeth’s foster mom has overseen a wonderful transformation in her health. She has already lost three pounds, a testament to the care and attention she receives. Recently, Elizabeth was treated for both an ear infection and a skin infection with Simplera Otic Solution, Simplicef 100 mg, and medicated baths. At her follow-up, her skin infection was resolved, and medicated baths were reduced to every other week. Repeat labs showed her white blood cell count returned to normal.
Despite her improvements, Elizabeth continues to have dilute urine and frequent urination. Her ALKP level remains elevated and has increased over time, so ongoing monitoring is recommended as this may indicate possible Cushing’s disease. At her latest recheck, a grade 2 heart murmur was noted; she is currently asymptomatic and not on medication. Elizabeth also has moderate dental calculus on her canines and will need a dental cleaning within the next 6–12 months.
Elizabeth is diagnosed with morbid obesity and will require continued weight monitoring and management. She is working on safe, steady weight loss and needs an adopter who is committed to her ongoing health journey.
Ideal Home & Future Needs
Elizabeth’s ideal future adopter will be someone committed to continuing her weight-loss plan, providing regular activity, and offering the steady companionship she thrives on. She will do best in a peaceful home where she can enjoy her cozy dog bed, gentle affection, and the simple pleasures of daily life. Consistent routines, regular veterinary care, and a loving environment will help Elizabeth continue to heal and flourish.
Conclusion
Once her veterinary care is complete, Elizabeth will make a truly wonderful companion. For now, she’ll continue resting, healing, and enjoying the love of her foster home as her caregivers learn more about her needs. With her gentle heart and resilient spirit, Elizabeth is sure to bring warmth and joy to her future family.
