Frodo is a joyful, affectionate, and energetic 3-year-old Blenheim Cavalier who’s currently settling into foster care and being treated with doxycycline following a positive test for anaplasma. While he’s not quite ready for adoption yet, we’re getting to know this sweet boy and can’t wait to share more as he blossoms.
Personality & Behavior
Frodo is a bundle of outdoor enthusiasm and indoor snuggles. He adores sprinting around the fenced backyard, soaking up every moment of freedom and fresh air. Inside, he’s a certified cuddle bug—happy to hop on the couch and curl up beside you for a cozy nap. He’s incredibly people-oriented and will follow you from room to room, always wanting to be close.
He lives peacefully with three other Cavaliers in his foster home and takes social cues from them, especially when treats are involved! While they don’t actively play together, Frodo fits right in and shows no signs of resource guarding—even when one of the others gets a little possessive over cow hooves.
Ideal Home
Frodo would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard and someone who can match his zest for walks and outdoor play. He’s strong and eager on leash, so a confident handler or training support would help him learn to pace himself. He’s house-trained, knows basic commands like sit, down, and stay (though “stay” is still a work in progress), and adapts well to household routines.
He does experience some separation anxiety when left alone but settles with the company of other dogs. He’s used to a calm environment with no children or other pets, but based on his temperament, we believe he could do well with respectful kids or additional furry companions.
Daily Life & Quirks
Frodo wakes up early, ready to greet the day with excitement. He eats enthusiastically—so much so that he now uses a slow feeder to pace himself. He’s not picky about treats and enjoys fetch and toys in moderation. His favorite lounging position? Froggy-style, with all four legs stretched out behind him.
He’s not crate-dependent and prefers the couch or bed when relaxing.
Travel & Transitions
Frodo travels well in the car for daily park walks and has adjusted to using a transport crate, though he may have been unfamiliar with it before. He’s still meeting new people and gaining confidence, and we’re excited to help him continue building trust and social skills.
Not Yet Available – But Worth the Wait Frodo is still undergoing treatment and getting settled, so he’s not ready for adoption just yet. We’ll continue to share updates as we learn more about his personality and preferences. For now, we’re enjoying every moment with this affectionate, frog-legged sweetheart and helping him prepare for his forever home.
Stay tuned—Frodo’s journey is just beginning, and we know his perfect match is out there.
