Hi! My Name Is Brie in Midwest
I'm in the Recovery Room - I'll Be Available Soon
Not yet available for adoption – currently receiving care for EPI
Brie is a radiant little soul wrapped in silky Blenheim fur, whose tail-wagging joy is so enthusiastic it’s earned her a case of “happy tail”! Despite facing health challenges, this sweet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel exudes happiness and resilience. She’s currently receiving treatment for Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition that requires lifelong enzyme support and a high-quality gastrointestinal diet. Brie is slowly gaining weight and thriving with three meals a day, each one a celebration in her crate (her favorite dining spot!).
Brie’s heart is as big as her appetite. She adores cuddles, laps, and cozying up with her canine companions. She’s wonderfully gentle with children, greets all people with tail-wagging delight, and politely ignores the cats in her foster home. While she hasn’t quite grasped the concept of toys or play, she’s curious and occasionally mischievous—sneaking off with socks or other chewable treasures, which may be linked to her nutritional needs.
Structure is new to Brie, and she’s learning the ropes of house life. She’s crate trained and settles in beautifully after a brief protest bark. House training is a work in progress, but she keeps her crate clean and is adapting to routines with grace. She’s not yet familiar with commands or leash walking, but her foster family is gently guiding her as her health allows.
Brie travels well in a crate and has been accompanying her foster to work daily, where she’s learning about potty breaks, meal schedules, and the comforting rhythm of companionship. She’s happiest wherever people and snacks are, and she’ll nap just as contentedly on the couch with her humans as she will curled up beside another dog.
Brie isn’t quite ready for adoption, but she’s blossoming more each day. As her health stabilizes, we’ll learn more about her preferences and personality. One thing is certain: she’ll thrive in a loving home that understands her medical needs and celebrates her joyful spirit.
Stay tuned as Brie continues her journey—we can’t wait to see her shine.
