Status: Not yet available for adoption — Ramona is new to rescue and will be spayed in the coming weeks.
Ramona is a radiant little spark wrapped in soft ruby fur, with eyes that speak volumes and a heart ready to bloom. At just 10 months old, she’s discovering the world one cautious pawstep at a time — and while she’s not quite ready for her forever home, we’re excited to begin sharing her story.
This sweet girl is a delightful mix of puppy energy and lap-loving snuggles. Toss a toy, and she’s off like a shot — fast as a bullet and full of bounce. But offer her a quiet lap, and she’ll melt into you with the kind of closeness that only Cavaliers truly master. Ramona is crate-trained and finds comfort in her cozy spaces, especially her crate and the family sofa. At night, she longs to sleep beside her person, snuggling close and making her feelings known if left out — she’s a sensitive soul who thrives on connection.
Ramona is still learning to trust the world around her. Sudden sounds and quick movements can startle her, and she’s especially shy with new people. But with each passing day, she’s beginning to adjust — finding comfort in routine, gentle voices, and the safety of her crate and favorite sofa. She’s frightened of leashes and unsure about walks, preferring the quiet of indoor life for now. With patience and a calm environment, Ramona is slowly building confidence and learning that the world isn’t quite so scary after all.
She’s not intimidated by other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine companion, though she doesn’t initiate play herself. An active home — with or without another dog — that offers consistent stimulation and patient encouragement will help her blossom. Due to her small size and sensitivity, we do not recommend a home with young children.
Ramona has a few quirks that make her uniquely hers: she jumps with joy (sometimes from behind!), eats slowly and needs encouragement to finish meals, and experiences motion sickness. She’s not food motivated, so training will require creativity and compassion. She’s also navigating environmental allergies and flea dermatitis, which may be location-related.
Despite her challenges, Ramona is pure love. She gives as much as she receives, and her gentle spirit is impossible to resist. She’s a work in progress — but aren’t we all? With time, patience, and a heart ready to meet hers, Ramona will be the kind of companion who reminds you daily why rescue matters.
Stay tuned as Ramona continues her journey with us. We’ll update her status once she’s ready to meet her forever family
