Janis, a 3-year-old Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is as charming as her namesake, Janis Joplin. While she isn’t quite ready for adoption just yet, she’s currently thriving in her foster home as we ensure she receives all the necessary veterinary care and continue to learn more about her personality.
Janis is a delightful mix of independent and affectionate. Whether she’s playing with her foster siblings or soaking up love from her humans, she adapts seamlessly to both solo time and group settings. She’s doing wonderfully with potty training—no accidents in her crate or kennel—and is already proving to be a well-behaved companion.
- Outdoor Adventures: Janis adores the fresh air and will happily join you for time spent outside.
- Snuggle Sessions: On the flip side, she’s equally content curled up on the couch, looking for a cozy lap to rest on. In fact, she’s a big fan of being close to her humans and would love a home where she’s welcome on the furniture.
- Sleeping in Comfort: If allowed, Janis is more than happy to share the bed for a good night’s sleep. She’s also great in her kennel for sleeping—no barking, just peaceful rest.
- Treats & Rewards: Food-motivated and treat-loving, she’s eager to please and a joy to have around.
We identified that Janis has EPI, which we are now beginning treatment. She is still lovely and will be a great dog for a family.
Janis is a laid-back, easygoing girl who doesn’t demand constant attention. However, when she does decide to bark, it’s loud enough to make her presence known! That said, she’s otherwise quiet and incredibly well-mannered, making her an easy companion for any family.
Janis would thrive in a home that values her affectionate nature and allows her to be close to her people, whether that’s lounging on the couch or snuggling in bed. A family that’s happy to have her on the furniture and enjoys her loving, low-maintenance temperament would be the perfect fit.
