Hi, I’m Baxter. I came into rescue with my brother Tucker. When we were 7 months old we ingested shot gun pellets and had to have emergency surgery. Clearly we liked getting into trouble. We lived in a condo and were crate trained, but we did bark a lot.
My foster mother has worked very hard with me and I have passed the basic obedience class. I get along great with my foster brothers and sisters. I love to play and I still bark at squirrels when I see them outside. I do have to protect the yard! I'm still a little shy, but I have made a lot of progress. I enjoy going for walks, riding in cars, and meeting other people and dogs. I was a little skinny when I came to rescue, but I've learned to enjoy my food. I eat slowly, but finish every drop.
I'd prefer a home with a big fenced yard and another dog to play with, preferable one bigger than me. But I also like going for walks, so you'd need to promise I'd get lots of exercise every day.
